Let It Breathe: Ditching the Airbox on Your Ruckus
Many Honda Ruckus owners look to upgrade performance beyond the stock setup. One popular modification is eliminating the OEM airbox to increase airflow to the engine. Removing the stock airbox allows for better airflow, which can lead to improved throttle response and overall performance. However, this modification requires re-jetting the carburetor to maintain proper air/fuel balance. (We recommend you add a performance exhaust at the same time, so you are only tuning your carburetor once.)
Honda Ruckus / Metropolitan airbox eliminator kit Type 1

- Cone Mesh Air Filter
- Intake tube with PCV fitting to attach filter.
- Uni Push style Air Filter for side of carburetor.
- 85 Main jet
- 38 SLOW JET
- Small washer to shim the Needle on the Carburetor.
* Jetting may vary depending on altitude, climate, fuel type, exhaust, and other modifications.
The air/fuel mixture screw should not be adjusted—it has minimal impact beyond idle. If adjusted, return to factory settings: tighten fully, then back out 2¼ turns.
